Jimmy Harper officiating. Burial will be in the family plot at the Crowville Masonic Cemetery in Crowville, LA under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home-Winnsboro. Visitation will from 1:00PM until service time at Mulhearn Funeral Home. Mrs. Harper was born on October 3, 1922 in Crowville, LA. She was the daughter of Claude and Jessie Mae Ferguson McManus. She retired from Mississippi Valley Gas Company in February 1985 after 23 years of faithful service. She thereafter lived a full and independent life. Mrs. Harper was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years-Arther A. Harper, her parents and one brother-Troy McManus, one sister-Florice Turnage and one grandson-Rex Smith, Jr. Survivors include one son-George Sharon Harper and wife Janice of Vancleave, MS; one daughter -Sandra Beth Smith of Natchez, MS; one brother-Earl Wayne McManus of Vidalia, LA; four grandchildren-Sharon Kay Harper McGahee and husband Vince of Kemah, TX, Kim Harper Agney and husband Eric of Robertsdale, Ala., Melanie Loyce Long and husband Dr. Jeffery of Manhattan, KS and Arthur Dudley Smith and wife Carrie of Paris, TN; seven great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; special nieces and nephews; and one brother-in-law-Hollis Harper of Denham Springs, LA. Pallbearers will be her nephews. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Dr. Keiper, Dr. Akinwale, and the nurses, especially the ICU nurses, at Community Hospital, who provided such compassoniate care for our mother in her illness.
