She was the beloved wife of Edward Harris for more than 27 years. In 1981, she earned a BS degree (cum laude) in Occupational Therapy from Northeast Louisiana University. While at Northeast she became a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. She began practicing her profession at Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple, TX. She continued her career at the Rehabilitation Center in Alexandria, LA. Rose is survived by her husband Edward Harris; mother Eula Mae Pickney Carmon; sisters Barbara J. Carmon and Carolyn Carmon Jones; brother Paul W. Carmon; mother-in-law Urlean Payton; sisters-in-law Minnie George, Toney Carmon, and Patricia Carmon; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her father Willis Carmon, brother Joseph Carmon, and sister Regina Carmon Atkins. Her funeral will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 31, in Combre Funeral Home Chapel, 1200 Mill Street, Lake Charles, LA. Entombment will be in Sacred Heart Mausoleum on Opelousas Street, Lake Charles, LA, under the direction of Combre Funeral Home. Visitation will is from 10:00 AM Tuesday in the Funeral Home.
