Pastor Paul Lipe will be officiating. Interment will follow at Monroe Memorial Park Mausoleum under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes of Monroe. Chris, best known as Mama Chris to her family, was born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, on June 19, 1928, as the oldest of four children. She resided the better part of her life in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where she retired from BASF Wyandotte, Geismar, La. Mama Chris loved her family and especially her grandchildren, for whom she cooked many delicious meals. She loved playing bridge with her Baton Rouge friends. Chris moved back to Monroe in April of last year to be near her son, Chet, and family. She quickly adapted to her new home and new friends. Within only a few weeks of her move, Chris was diagnosed with lung cancer, which she fought with grace and courage. On February 16, 2009, she went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Daniel Morgan and Lou Ada Cochran Morgan; her son, Ronald Geoffrey Harrod; and her brother, Albert Daniel Morgan, Jr. She is survived by her son, Chet Harrod, and his wife, Becky; her grandsons, Chandler Harrod of Los Angeles, California; Dr. Chambliss Harrod and his wife, Rebecca, and their twin sons, George and Wait, of Boston, Massachusetts; Bennett Harrod of Charlotte, North Carolina; and Michelle Harrod Houston of Baton Rouge, LA and her husband, Jeremy; her brother, M.G. Morgan and his wife, Joy; brother Billy Morgan and his wife, Sylvia, and sister in law, Alice Morgan, all of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, as well as many loved cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Pallbearers will be Frederick Huenefeld, Stewart Gentry, Mike Breen, Fred Huenefeld, Herschel Gentry and Charles Wilkins. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1761 North 19th Street, Monroe, LA 71201 or Delhi Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 368, Delhi, LA 71232, or to the donor's choice.
