ELLIS DALE HART

Ellis Dale Hart, P.E.,PhD, age 82, of Jackson, MS passed away on March 14, 2016 
at Highland Home in Ridgeland, MS. He was born in Crossett, AR on March 2, 1934 
to his parents, Ellis Martin and Delma Lois Adkins Hart. Dr. Hart was a U. S. 
Navy veteran, a retired Civil Engineer for the US Corp of Engineers, Vicksburg, 
MS and Assistant Professor at Northeast Louisiana University, Monroe, LA. He 
enjoyed building birdhouses, bird watching and gardening. Mr. Hart was a member 
of Briarwood United Methodist Church in Jackson, MS. He was preceded in death 
by his parents and sister, Mary Lee Hart.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Carter Hart of Jackson, MS; son, Dr. 
Stephen Michael Hart of Woodstock, GA; daughter, Donna Lynné Hart Joplin and 
husband, Rod of Overland, Park, KS; grandchildren, Michael Hart, Rachael Hart, 
Max Joplin, Kendall Joplin, Zachary Joplin; two great-grandsons; step-son, 
Bruce Carter and wife, Cammie of Jackson, MS; step-daughter, Nancy Carter Webb 
of Waleska, GA; step-grandchildren, Tracy Carter, Corey Carter, John Webb, 
Stephen Webb and one step-great grandson.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 18, 2016 at 
Lakewood Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett, AR.

Visitation will be held on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Jones 
Funeral Home.
