Mr. Harvison, previously of West Monroe, LA and Baton Rouge, LA was preceded in death by his parents Vaughn and Molly Harvison, and his sister Annette Harvison. Left to cherish his memory is his devoted wife of 44 years, Adele Harvison; loving brother, Julian Harvison and wife Betty; beloved son Emery Harvison and wife Rolanda; cherished daughter Carrie Harvison Barnes and husband Jay; and four beautiful grandchildren that were the light of his life - Jill and Allen Harvison, Braeden Hodge, and Landon Barnes. Mr. Harvison was born in Truman, AR on December 4, 1944. He was a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army with the 815th Engineering Battalion from 1966-1969. He was deployed to Vietnam from 1968-1969 where he proudly served our country during war time. Mr. Harvison was a retired mechanic that could fix anything he laid his hands on, which was one of his many gifts. His favorite pastime was cooking. He was famous for his many wonderful dishes that he would proudly prepare for family and friends. While living in Baton Rouge, he spent lots of time at The El Rio Grande Restaurant, where he became close to Raul Urdiales, whom he thought of as a 2nd son. Anyone who was honored to know him heard many stories about his past and his love of making people happy through cooking. He was a giver to many and loved by all who knew him. A memorial service will be held to honor his memory and celebrate his life in Phoenix, AZ on August 4, 2013. Memorial donations may be made to your local Hospice organization.
