HATTON JR. Cox Funeral Home Delhi, L A Funeral services for Lonnie R. Hatton Jr., 80, of Lake Providence will be at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, July 1, 2009 in the chapel of Cox Funeral Home of Delhi with Rev. Wayne Stroud officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM Tuesday at Cox Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Epps Cemetery. Mr. Hatton was a cattleman, commercial fisherman and a musician. In 1957 he joined the LA Wildlife & Fisheries Dept. as a game agent and retired in 1977. Lonnie loved to play his fiddle, having played for many community centers, nursing homes, dances and benefits. Lonnie was known as one of the finest fiddle players in LA. He was a member of the Sardis Baptist Church in Winnsboro; a 32nd Degree Master Mason and a member of the Royal Arch Masons in Liddieville, Mangham and Columbia as well as being a member of the Woodmen of the World. Mr. Hatton was responsible for raising the first flag of the Cherokee Nation in Franklin Parish and was a member of the Boeuf River Band of Cherokees. He is preceded in death by two sons; Teddy Joe Hatton and William T. "Jo Jo" Hatton; his parents, Lonnie Roosevelt Hatton Sr. and Lola Dale Foreman Hatton; a sister Juanita Mercer and a grand daughter Christy Hatton. He is survived by his loving wife, Connie Lee Hatton of Lake Providence, LA; three sons, Ronnie & Kathy Hatton of Winnsboro, LA, Richard Hatton of Los Angeles, CA and Tony & Susanne Hatton of West Monroe, LA; daughter, Linda & John McGallaird of Spindale, NC; six grand children, Nicole & Bryan Laws of Marion, NC, Amanda & Shannon Craig of Rutherford, NC, Jeffery Don & Christina Hatton of Liddieville, LA, Justin Hatton of Liddieville, LA, Joel & Tracey Hatton of Liddieville, LA and Jack Oliver Hatton of West Monroe, LA; sister, Noel & Jorge Tramontana of PA; brother-in-law, Phillip & Selia Frasier of Delhi, LA; sister-in-law, Carol & John Herlong of Lake Providence, LA; nine great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Jeffery Don Hatton, Joel Hatton, Justin Hatton, John McGallaird, Bryan Laws and Shannon Craig. Honorary pallbearers will be Phillip Frasier and Johnny Mercer.
