JOHN RUTHERFORD HAYS

Services for John Rutherford Hays, 90 of Start, LA will be 10:00 AM, Friday, 
February 8, 2013, at the Crew Lake United Methodist Church with Rev. Marshall 
Sevier officiating. Interment will be in the Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery 
in Monroe, LA under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home -Rayville.

Mr. Hays passed from this life on Monday, February 4, 2013. He was born in 
Russellville, Ark on June 10, 1922. He was a member of Crew Lake United 
Methodist Church, World War II veteran in the US Marine Corps, afterwards he 
moved to Start and raised his family, and farmed cotton and soybeans.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 49 years-Kathryn Hays; sister-Anita 
DeCelle; and parents-Dr. Charles Wentworth and Anita Periman Hays.

He is survived by a daughter-Joan Hays Brown and husband William; three sons-
John Charles Hays and wife Dara, Phillip L. Hays and wife Cathy, and Stephen 
Hays and wife Donna; 13 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and numerous 
nieces and nephews and friends.

Visitation will be 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Thursday, February 7, 2013, at the 
Mulhearn Funeral Home-Rayville, LA.

Pallbearers will be grandsons; Benjamin Hays, Jason Hays, Christopher Hays, 
Matthew Hays, Hunter Hays, Luke Hays and Justin Hays.

Honorary pallbearers are Billy Whitten, Andrew Cole, Lenard Sullivan, Fred 
Sapp, and Pat Patterson.

Memorials may be made to Crew Lake Methodist Church or Black Bayou Lake 
National Wildlife Refuge.
