George Jacobs. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery in Calhoun. Mrs. Head died Wednesday, November 26, 1997, at Glenwood Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Head was a longtime resident of Newellton, LA. She was a Charter Member of Flowers Landing Baptist Church. She held many positions at the church, which included pianist and secretary. Later she became a member of Newellton Baptist Church. After moving to West Monroe, she became a member of Pleasant Valley Congregational Church. Mrs. Head was very active in the Order of Eastern Star. She served as District Deputy Grand Matron of District 10. She was currently a member of Cadeville Chapter #208. Mrs. Head enjoyed gardening end was well known for her love of animals. She was a devoted homemaker, loving wife and mother. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Survivors include her husband of 64 years: J.Y. Heed of West Monroe; one son: J. Norman Head and his wife, Dorothy, of West Monroe; one daughter: Geraldine H. Naylor of Dallas, TX; one sister: Jonnie B. Bonnett of West Monroe; four grandchildren: Teresa Brown, Cindy Austin, Norman Naylor, Diana Naylor; four great-grandchildren: Chris Brown, Patricia Brown, Austin Naylor and Brittany Naylor. Pallbearers will be Phillip Sims, Jimmy White, Randy Brown, Brent Austin, Ralph Kilpatrick, and Kenneth Bonnett. Honorary Pallbearers will be son-in-law and grandsons.
