Funeral services for Lois Hollis Saunders Heard, 95, of Spearsville will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday at Antioch Church of Christ in Spearsville with Bros. Billy Bennett and Stan Fortenberry officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home of Farmerville. Mrs. Heard, a retired insurance agent & homemaker, died July 7, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband and father of her children, James E. Saunders; and husbands, C. C.Futch and George P. Heard, Sr. Survivors are her 2 sons: J. T. Saunders & wife, Pat of Spearsville and John C. Saunders & wife, Sue of Farmerville; 4 daughters: Mary Sue Nugent & husband, James of Winnsboro, Peggy Nell Washam & husband, William "Bill" Warren Washam of Spearsville, Frances Cummins & husband, Joe of West Monroe and Ruth Helen DeVoll & husband, Eddie of Sunnyvale, TX; 1 sister: Jackie Hollis Randerson of Houston, TX; 1 sister-in-law: Marcelle Hollis of Spearsville; special friend: Rita Monk; 10 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren and many other close relatives and friends. Pallbearers are James Nugent, Jr., John Nugent, Bill Saunders, Donavan Saunders, Steven DeVoll and James DeVoll. Honorary pallbearers are James Johnson and William "Bill" Warren Washam. Visitation will be 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home and again Friday at the church from noon until time of service.
