Erby Burgess officiating and Dr. Franklin Atkinson assisting. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, LA. Mr. Hearn passed away Friday, March 15, 2013, at St. Francis Medical Center. Mr. Hearn was a member of Parkview Baptist Church in Monroe since 1972 where he served as a deacon. He was a charter member of the Byrd Sunday School Class. He was the founder and owner of Catfish Cabin Restaurant in Monroe, which opened March 15, 1972, and is still owned and operated by the Hearn family. James was a member of the Monroe Chamber of Commerce, Downtown Monroe Lions Club, Better Business Bureau, served on the Louisiana Seafood Marketing and Promotion Board, and Louisiana Restaurant Association State Board of Directors, where he was Secretary, Treasurer and Vice President. He was an active member of the ULM Athletic Foundation, was a U.S. Army veteran having served in the Korean Conflict, and a member of American Legion. Mr. Hearn was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Henry Hearn, Sr. and Lillian Inez Harwell Hearn; brothers, Charles Henry Hearn, Jr., William Harwell Hearn; and first wife of 51 years, Norma Moore Hearn. Survivors include his wife, Janis Pepper Trevillion Hearn; sons, James Russell Hearn, Jr. and wife Lydia, Henry David Hearn and wife Janet; daughter, Patricia Hearn Armstrong Tolar and husband John; step daughters, Ashleigh Trevillion Collins and husband Chris, Jana Trevillion Geiger and husband Sam; grandchildren, Nicole Hearn Creighton, Brian Armstrong, Russ Hearn, Natalie Hearn, and Rachel Hearn; step-grandchildren, Hayden Collins, Kayley Collins Klingbeil and husband Seth, Laurel Collins, Mason Collins, Mallorie Geiger, and Madison Geiger; great grandchildren, Abagail Creighton, Hannah Creighton, Meredith Armstrong, and Zowie Hearn; brothers, Winston Hearn and Robert Meade Hearn; sister, Sybil Harwell; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Mike Creighton, John Tolar, Preston Murray, Russ Hearn, Brian Armstrong, Chris Collins, and Jacob Pruitt. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Byrd Sunday School Class. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM Sunday at Parkview Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to Parkview Baptist Church and University of Louisiana at Monroe Athletic Foundation.
