William (aka Bill) was a member of McClendon Baptist Church. He faithfully served the Lord all his life. Bill enlisted in the United States Air Force in Oct 1946 and retired as a Master Sergeant after 27 years of service. Bill enjoyed a second career as a mechanic for Pohlman & Wilbanks. Bill was a strong and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and uncle. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, one son, and one grandson. Bill is survived by his wife Melva, his children, Jeff Hembree and his wife Lisa, Debbie Russell and her husband Harold, Johnny Hembree and his wife Kim; grandchildren, Cole Russell and his wife Mollye, Austin Russell and Katie Wilcox, Heather LaRoux; and numerous nieces, nephews, great grandchildren and extended family. Bill opted to forego a funeral, and in his continued generous spirit, has donated his body to science in hopes that others will continue to learn from him. Visitors will be accepted at his residence on Friday, July 8, 2016 and Saturday, July 9, 2016. If desired, expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of bibles donated to Gideons or any other charity of choice . Bill loved a giving spirit and was very pleased when he bared witness to the charitable acts of others. Bill's lasting legacy is that others will hopefully follow the Lord as he has.
