She departed life on April 27, 2009 in Monroe, Louisiana at home with her family. Services for Emma will be Saturday at Liberty Christian Center in Monroe at 11:00. Visitation will be 11:00 AM until 5:00 PM Friday at Smith Funeral Home. Emma united her faith with Avenue Baptist Church under the late Reverend C.H. Reed. At Avenue, she remained a faithful and devoted member throughout sickness and until death. Emma accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and was a member of many, many organizations associated with the church, including but not limited to, the Mission, Sunday School, Usher Board, Church Treasurer, BB&O Association and Seminary. She traveled to many destinations just to study the Word of God. She loved church and she loved people ! Emma was blessed to carry the power of the anointing with her: she touched many, many lives thorough her work in the Monroe City Schools as well as in church. Emma was preceded in death by her husband, William Henderson and one son, Reverend Roneld Ray Henderson. Her legacy will forever be held dear and cherished by her children, Lee Zelnola Henderson Smith ( Joe), Issac Henderson (Carolyn), and Fredrick Henderson (Earline) all of Monroe, Louisiana, Willie James Henderson (JoAnn) of Romulus, Michigan, one daughter-in-law, Prophetess Fredessa Henderson Sharp of Vicksburg, Mississippi, one goddaughter, Irene Harris of Tulsa, Oklahoma, six siblings, Jessie Smith (Gwen), Mallissie Gadson both of Detroit, Michigan, Maggie Webster of Sicily Island, Louisiana, Willie Smith, Lula Logwood (Sam) and Luella Smith all of Monroe, Louisiana, 21 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and on great-great- grandson, and a host of of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, and friends.
