HARRY ROBERT HENDERSON

Funeral services for Harry Robert Henderson will be 10AM, Friday, May 23, 2014, 
at Cox Funeral Home with Rev. Jonathan Williams and Rev. Paul Ninemire 
officiating. Interment will be in the New Forest Cemetery. Services are under 
the direction of Cox Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Thursday from 5PM - 8PM and Friday from 8AM until service 
time at Cox Funeral Home.

Harry was born on December 26, 1928 in Ferriday, LA and died after a long 
illness on May 20, 2014 in Oak Grove, LA at the age of 85.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Dora Mae Huey Henderson and his uncle, 
Oscar Huey.

Harry was a lifelong resident of West Carroll Parish and except for his time at 
LA Polytechnic Institute, now LA Tech University and his four years of service 
in the United States Air Force, he lived his life in West Carroll Parish. He 
loved his animals, the land, his community, his profession and lived his life in 
service to all.

He was a past president of the LA Soybean Association, Soybean Promotion Board, 
and LA Association of Conservation Districts. He served many years as president 
of West Carroll Conservation Districts, Pioneer Farmers Coop, West Carroll 
Cattleman's Association along with numerous other boards, committee's and 
commissions.

Harry is survived by his wife of 52 years, Peggy Carroll Henderson of Pioneer, 
LA; four sons, Harry "Bubba" Henderson Jr. of Monroe, LA, Steve Henderson and 
Molly of Pioneer, LA, Mike Henderson and Leanda Paul of Oak Grove, LA, Ron 
Henderson and Dee Dee of Bossier City, LA; seven grandchildren, Justin Beatty 
and Amber of Bossier City, LA, Eric Henderson and Veronica of Cabot, AR, 
Brittany Sistrunk and Guthrie of Oak Grove, LA, Melissa Mann and Jason of Baton 
Rouge, LA, Matthew Henderson and Erin of Ruston, LA, Tyler Henderson of Bossier 
City, LA, Mallory Henderson of Baton Rouge, LA; six great-grandchildren, Tucker 
Beatty, Easton Beatty, Seth Marcione, Braylon Henderson, Madison Sistrunk, 
Adeline Mann.

He was loved and will be missed by his family and his extended family he served 
and his community.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Henderson, Justin Beatty, Eric Henderson, Jason 
Mann, Guthrie Sistrunk, Tyler Henderson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the 
Oak Grove Lions Club Flag Fund
