Henry, 85, of Monroe, will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday, February 10, 2015, at Lakeshore Baptist Church in Monroe with Rev. William Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Wilhite Cemetery in Union Parish. Mr. Henry died on February 8, 2015 at the War Veterans Home. Mr. Henry was a Korean War Veteran who served as a Sergeant in the US Army from 6/52-6/54. He was a charter member of the West Monroe Jaycees, past member of the West Monroe Civitans and Optimist Club. Mr. Henry graduated from Louisiana Business College and was an accountant for 49 years. Mr. Henry was the former coach for the Dixie Boys Baseball team and Babe Ruth team for 6 years. He enjoyed baseball, as well as hunting and fishing. Mr. Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Mattie and Harvey Henry; sister, Ora Henry Antley; brothers, Doyle Henry and Howard Henry. His survivors include his wife, Virginia Wall Henry; daughter, Karen Henry Paulk; granddaughters, Shonda Mizell Ashworth and husband Keith; Stacie Mizell Austin and husband, Jacob; five great grandchildren, Cloey Ashworth, Dylan Ashworth, Jaycie Austin, Alivia Austin, and Jakobie Austin; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Harold Henry, Buddy Bradshaw, Bubba Via, Dwight Landry, Scotty Barnes, and Doug Self. The family wishes to extend their thanks to Mr. Henry's caregivers, Shannon Lyons, Lakeshia Coker, and Kendrick Anderson. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Lakeshore Baptist Church Building Fund, or the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home.
