Bruce Rux officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Martha Ann Henry was born on May 22, 1927 in Shreveport, LA and passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2009, at home after a long battle with cancer. She is preceded in death by her parents, Stewart McClain Scott, Sr. and Dolly Patrick Scott; and two brothers, Stewart McClain Scott, Jr. and William Frost Scott. Martha was assistant director of the Ouachita Parish Public Library after beginning her career choice during high school. Her passion for ancestral history created the Genealogy Library at the North 18th branch where she assisted patrons and built a collection of resources for research. Mrs. Henry was president of the Monroe Beautification Board, Monroe Symphony League, PTA President, and hosted many gatherings for the Miss Louisiana Pageant. Many women remember Martha's alumni commitment to University of Louisiana at Monroe in supporting her Kappa Delta Sorority sisters. She hosted many events and was always a voice of wisdom. Mrs. Henry also served on the Monroe City School Board from 1973 - 1985 and the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education for four years. Martha Ann is survived by her three daughters, Pat Dugas of Houston, TX, Pam Henry of Austin, TX, and Penny Millhollon and husband Eddie of Shreveport, LA; granddaughter, Tina Dugas; nephew, Donald Scott, Sr.; niece, Kay Chapman; great nieces, Carolyn Scott and Holly Scott; great nephew, Stewart McDonald Scott; and step grandchildren, Michelle Guilbeau and husband Glen, and Linda Millhollon. Visitation will be on Friday, September 11, 2009, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. The family would like to express their great thankfulness to Dr. Christopher Snead and his staff at the Christus Schumpert Cancer Treatment in Shreveport, LA, MedStar Home Health, and Hospice Compassus.
