JOHN RICHARD HERNANDEZ

Funeral services for John "Richard" Hernandez, 57, of Monroe, will be held at 
1:00 PM Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church with 
Rev. Job Edathinatt Scaria, CMI, officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn 
Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, 
Sterlington Road, Monroe.Richard was born in Winnsboro, LA, on June 20, 1956 to 
Dr. Travis and Gloria Hernandez and returned to God on December 31, 2013, after 
a hard fought battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, 
Linda Dinger Hernandez; and sister, Elaine Hernandez Herring.Richard is survived 
by his two children, Josh Hernandez and wife Stacy of Monroe, Courtney Hernandez 
Blakeney and friend Terry Blakeney; mother, Janette Hernandez and friend Dan 
Robinson of West Monroe; brothers, Dr. Robert Hernandez and wife Melinda of 
Shreveport; Gregory Hernandez of Pensacola, FL, Cecil Hernandez of Charleston, 
SC, Travis Hernandez and wife Traci of Parker, CO, Brian Hernandez and wife Pam 
of Norcross, GA; and sisters, Lorraine Hernandez Linder of Bossier City, Markaye 
Hernandez Russell and husband Waggoner of Calhoun. Richard is also survived by 
numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces and special friend Dia 
Solomon.Richard was an amazing person that impacted the lives of all who had the 
pleasure of knowing him. He loved the outdoors and spending time with his family 
and friends. While he will be forever missed, God has taught us that we will see 
Richard again in His holy kingdom.Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM 
with a Vigil Wake at 6:30 PM Friday, January 3, 2014 at the funeral home.The 
family wishes to express their deepest appreciation and gratitude to the 
exceptional staff at Christus St. Joseph Home and First Choice Hospice for all 
of their love and assistance.
