NORMAN HEWITT SR.
Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home, Winnsboro, LA

Funeral services for Norman Hewitt Sr., 91, of Gilbert, LA will be held at 
River of Life Church on Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Norman 
Hewitt Jr., Rev. Dave Phillips, and Sister Joan Hendry officiating. Interment 
will follow at Oakley Cemetery under the direction of Young's Community 
Memorial Funeral Home in Winnsboro.

Mr. Hewitt was born September 27, 1917 in Welch, LA and passed away Monday 
June 08, 2009 at his residence in Gilbert. A servant of Jesus who lived a full 
life which will be remembered well by his family and friends. Mr. Hewitt was a 
resident of Gilbert for over 60 years and was Gilbert's mail carrier for 28 
years. He was also a master carpenter and well-known gardener, using those 
gifts to help others. Mr. Hewitt served in the Army during World War II and 
was stationed in the Philippine Islands. Mr. Hewitt touched many lives during 
his lifetime by showing them the love of Jesus.

He was preceded in death by: Father-Henry Homer Hewitt; Mother-Lottie Mae 
(Hurlbut) Hewitt; 1st wife-Betty Joe Emfinger Hewitt; 2 grandsons-Gillis 
Michael Hewitt Jr. and Matthew Gabriel Hewitt; Granddaughter-Annie Williams; 6 
Brothers-Ed, Herman, George, Burton, Carl, and Harland.

Survivors include: Wife-Ruth Hewitt of Gilbert, LA.; Daughter-Kay Hewitt of 
Monroe, LA; Son-Mike Hewitt and wife Sharon of Gilbert, LA.; Son-Norman Hewitt 
Jr. and wife Liz of Huntsville, AL.; Son-Nolan Williams and wife Sue of 
Gilbert, LA.; Son-Ronnie Williams and wife Connie of Junction City, AR.; 
Daughter-Vicki Hill and husband Doug of Gilbert, LA.; He was also survived by 
13 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

The pallbearers will be Brandon Reid, Heath Hill, Kevin Williams, Glenn 
Williams, Dennis Williams, George Williams, Lance Reid, and Andrew Collins.

The honorary pallbearers will be Austin Brown and Samuel Hewitt.
