JACKIE RAY HIGHTOWER

Jackie Ray Hightower, age 74 of Jonesboro, died Friday, March 14, 2014 
following a lengthy illness. Brother Hightower had pastored many churches in 
this area as well as many churches in south Louisiana. He was a loving 
husband, father, grandfather and a wonderful friend to many as he carried the 
message of Jesus to the world.

Visitation for Brother Hightower were 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Saturday, March 
15, 2014 at Southern Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Funeral services will be held 
2:00 pm Sunday in the chapel with Reverend Hudey Beaubouef and Reverend Bill 
Staples officiating. Interment will be in Concord Cemetery, near Chatham, 
under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Linda Hightower of Jonesboro; sons, 
Mark Hightower and wife Connie of Woodlands, TX, Kent Hightower and wife Carla 
of Jonesboro, Timothy Hightower and wife Keaton of Jonesboro; daughters, 
Deborah Zwiener and husband Mark of Huntsville, AL, Stacey Watson and husband 
Sonny of Ruston, Dana Davis and husband Keith of Ruston; 14 grandchildren; 15 
great-grandchildren; sisters, Shirley Garner and husband Jackie of McKinney, 
TX, Annette Waters of Broken Arrow, OK, Carolyn Verette of Montgomery, TX; a 
host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Reverend Hightower was preceded in death by his parents, Leon G. Hightower and 
Ethel Bernice (Cooper) Hightower; grandson, Duane Ducote, Jr.; brother, Leon 
G. Hightower, Jr; brother-in-law, Dale Waters; nephew, Rodney Waters.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
