Craig Beeman and Rev. Max Lee officiating. Interment will be in Crowville Masonic Cemetery under the direction of Gill First National Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at First Baptist Church Winnsboro, LA and 1:00 PM until service time Thursday. He left this earthly life April 30, 2012 at his home in Winnsboro, following a short illness. He was born December 16, 1927 in Crowville, LA and was a 1946 graduate of Crowville High School, and Monroe Commercial Business School in Monroe, LA. He was employed with McLemore Wholesale & Retail Store for 27 years and later went into business for himself at Farm Chemical Gilbert, LA for 25 years, and retired in 2006. He enjoyed gardening, coaching Baseball and RA basketball and other outdoor activities including going to the camp with his family to fish and hunt. He was a member of First Baptist Church since 1955 serving as Deacon, Sunday school teacher, Royal Ambassador Leader, Church Clerk and church treasurer. He was a charter member of the Rotary Club and a member of Farm Bureau. Preceding him in death were his parents, Clyde Charles and Bertha Black Hill, and his brother Burton Edward Hill. Survivors include his wife of 61 years Elna Elizabeth Pitts Hill of Baskin, LA; sons Clyde Denton Hill of Winnsboro and Keith Gregory Hill and wife Natalie of Springtown, Texas; grandsons Brian Keith Hill-University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio, Texas; David Alan Hill and wife Amy and great-grandson Cooper Alan Hill of Midland, Texas; granddaughter Elizabeth Nicole Hill - Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana; brother, Henry C. Hill; sister Bobby Hill Adams and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Pallbearers will be John Earl Carroll, Ralph Easterling, Ron Ellerbe, Rogers Hill, Robert Moroni and Marlin Valentine. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of First Baptist Church Winnsboro. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church 502 Highland St. Winnsboro, LA 71295 or to the charity of your choice.
