HILLMAN Funeral services for Mr. Sonnyboy Hillman, 74 of Epps will be held at 2:00PM Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at the Epps Baptist Church. Visitation will be held from 5-8PM Tuesday at Cox Funeral Home in Delhi. Burial will be in the Epps Community Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Delhi. Mr. Hillman died Sunday, January 27, 2013 at the Richardson Medical Center in Rayville . He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter Edgar Hillman and Martha E. "Mattie Beth" Williams Hillman, a brother Mitchell Hillman and a sister Helen Hillman. Sonnyboy is survived by his loving wife of fifty-five years, Mary Lewis Hillman of Epps; six children Steve Hillman & wife Sherry of Epps, Terri Sylvestri & husband Joe of Epps, Richard Hillman of Lake Charles, Walter Stuart Hillman & wife Robyn of Rayville, Jennifer Smith of West Monroe and Wendy Rathbun & husband Daniel of Odessa, TX; sixteen grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two sisters Flores Ottenhoff of Oak Park Illinois and Jessie Klett of Epps; a very special friend who was considered a sister, Sylvia Glidewell of Epps and numerous nieces and nephews and close friends. Grandsons & Granddaughters will serve as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Harvey Black, Robert Pickering, Raymond Stanfield, Marvin Butts, Roy Lee Simms, Dennis McPherson, J. C. Starks, Donald Gwin, Level Hale, Craig Hale, Shelton Ezell and W. L. Glidewell. Sonnyboy took great pride in the fact that all six children and his wife completed college degrees. A crossword puzzle working genius and a gadget inventing wizard of "make do" farm mechanics, he passed from this life surrounded by the love of his devoted wife, children, and grandchildren, accompanied by the prayers of family and friends.
