HARRY JACKSON HILLMAN

Harry Jackson Hillman, 86, of Monroe, Louisiana, passed away on July 11, 2014. 
The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on July 15, 2014 at Kilpatrick 
Funeral Homes, Monroe. Rev. Erby Burgess of Parkview Baptist Church will 
officiate. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on July 14 at Kilpatrick 
Funeral Homes, Monroe. A committal service will follow the funeral at 2 p.m. on 
July 15, 2014 at Stoney Point Cemetery in Bucksnort, Arkansas.

Harry was born near Bucksnort on April 13, 1928, and moved to Fordyce, AR when 
he was five. A survivor of the Great Depression, he was drafted into the United 
States Army when he was eighteen. He served on the Osaka Military Government 
team in Japan before graduating at the top of his class in a typewriter 
engineering program at OAMI College in Springfield, Missouri. He eventually 
opened Ouachita Office Machines in Monroe, and Hillman Office Machines & Supply 
in Columbus, Mississippi. Over the years, he also owned R & T Corporation, 
Little Indian Investment Corp. and Hillman Oil Production Corp.

He married Margaret Mayfield in 1949. They were married for 47 years and had 
three sons before her death in 1994. Harry married Carolyn Leggitt in 1995, and 
they celebrated their 19th anniversary in June.

Harry gave his heart to Jesus Christ when he was eleven years old, and he served 
as a deacon at First Baptist Church and Parkview Baptist Church in Monroe.

Harry is survived by his wife, three sons, Randy, Ronald and Scott Hillman, two 
brothers, Jerry and Carlton Hillman, five sisters, Margie Aslin, Ruby Hile, 
Patsy Cunningham, Louise Pierce and Barbara Gill, four grandchildren and five 
great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three sisters.
