A US Navy veteran, Mr. Hisaw proudly served his country during World War II. He was a member of the Rice Farmers Association and was Governor of the Moose Lodge. Mr. Hisaw was also a volunteer of the year for the Briarfield Academy and farmer of the year. He greatly enjoyed cooking for his family, friends, and the community. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Patsy Jones Hisaw; children, Steve Hisaw (Dianne), Diana Ijames Gillaspy (Brian), Judy Barry (Jerry), Sandra Hisaw, and Carol Gotreaux (Louis); brother, Eugene Hisaw; grandchildren, Ginger Hisaw, Jennifer Hisaw, Hailee Wiggins, Scott Hawsey, Brian Hawsey, and Andre Gotreaux nine great-grandchildren; and longtime friends, Robby Bagbey, Ricky Bagbey, and Patti Shivers. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Mona Vanpool Hisaw; two brothers; two sisters; and granddaughter, Lindsay Hisaw. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mr. Hisaw's name to Briarfield Academy at 301 Par Road 3346, Lake Providence, LA 71254, and Hospice Compassus at 1438 S.
