C.K. Brooks, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Earl Emmerich. Mr. Hobbs was a retired worker for Louisiana Power and Light Co. and a native of Ouachita Parish. The body will lie in state at Hixson Brother's Funeral Home until noon today. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Nora Hobbs, West Monroe; two sons, James V, Whitman, Ind., and Cecil, West Monroe; two daughters, Mrs. Claudine Hogge and Mrs. Opal Winslow, both of West Monroe; five brothers, Curt Hobbs, Horace Hobbs, Aubrey Hobbs, all of West Monroe, Eual Hobbs and Walter Hobbs, both of Monroe; two sisters, Mrs. Bertha Beeson and Mrs. Verna Futch, both of West Monroe; and five grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jimmie Hobbs, J.D. Wilbanks, W.D. Wilbanks, Victor Rutledge, D.M. Evans and C.P. Holloway.
