JOSH RAYMOND "JACK" HOLLIS Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe, LA Funeral services for Mr. Josh Raymond "Jack" Hollis, 96, of West Monroe will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, April 26, 2009 in the Chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in West Monroe. Don DeLukie and Don Glover will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Calhoun, LA. Mr. Hollis was one of 13 children. He was born on April 29, 1912 in Spearsville, LA and passed away April 23, 2009 in West Monroe. Mr. Hollis grew up in Spearsville, LA and graduated from Spearsville High School. He was married to Ina Bradshaw Hollis for 60 years. Mr. Hollis retired from Texas Gas Transmission Company after 32 years, then began a real estate career that lasted 23 years. He was a member of the Jackson Street Church of Christ. He helped start churches in Sterlington, LA and Columbia, LA serving as both Elder and Deacon in several Churches of Christ in our area. Mr. Hollis was affectionately known by his family as "Daddy Jack". He loved his family dearly. He was known for his integrity and willingness to help others. He took great pride in his huge vegetable garden he raised each year and from which he gave much to others. "Daddy Jack" was preceded in death by his parents and eleven siblings, by his wife of 60 years, Ina Bradshaw Hollis, and by his grandson Cam Barrett Fisher. He is survived by his wife Bonnie Hollis who took wonderful care of him for 8 and a half years, by his daughter Barbara Hollis Fisher and husband Barrett Fisher of West Monroe, by his son Jerry Hollis and wife Becky of Arvada, CO, by grand daughter Susan Anding and husband Greg Anding of Tyler, TX, grandsons David Fisher and wife Robin of West Monroe, LA, Kirk Hollis and wife Kim of Ponca City, OK, and Ryan Hollis and wife Katie of West Memphis, AR and by step children Rollie Allen of Lafayette, LA and Dianna Wood-Gibson of West Monroe. His surviving great grand children are Koty Fisher and Kaylie, Luke, Lindsay, Elijah and Brylie Hollis. He is also survived by his brother Warner Hollis and wife Velma of Shreveport, LA. We will all truly miss "Daddy Jack" Pallbearers will be nephews and grandsons. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Saturday at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in West Monroe.
