She fought a courageous battle against cancer. Funeral services honoring her faithful life will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at North Monroe Baptist Church with Rev. Warren Eckhardt officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 pm Monday, May 20, 2013 at the funeral home. De'Lane was born March 13, 1943 in Monroe, La. She was a devout Christian and a member of North Monroe Baptist Church for more than forty years. She served her church in various capacities including teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. De'Lane was preceded in death by her father and mother, William Cooper and Margie Cooper, as well as the love of her life, Benny Hollis. She is survived by her son, Jay Hollis and wife Jennifer Richardson Hollis; daughter, Bonnie Hollis Texada and husband, Richard Texada Jr.; two precious grandchildren, Emily Claire Texada and Evan Hollis Texada; sister Carolyn Hinton; sister-in-law, Ernestine Hollis Nolen; nieces, Kim Hinton Adams, Connie Nolen Humphries and Molly Nolen Apple; nephews, Randy Hinton and Aaron Hinton; aunt, Bonnie Cobb. De'Lane graduated from Ouachita Parish High School in 1961. She continued a lifelong friendship with many of her high school classmates, who held a special place in her heart. She received her B.A. in Education from Northeast Louisiana University. Family and friends were De'Lane's highest priority. She dedicated her life to raising her two children, as well as caring for her mother, great aunts and numerous friends. De'Lane devoted ten years of her life to caring for her husband during his battle with Alzheimer's disease. She is now reunited with Benny in Heaven. A special thank you goes to Patty Hughes, her lifelong friend, who was always there for her. Patty exemplified true friendship. Memorials may be made to North Monroe Baptist Church in her name.
