Charles Edward Holstead, 85, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 11:00AM Monday, April 1, 2013 at Ridge Ave Baptist Church in West Monroe, LA with Dr. David Brown, Rev. Calton Yeager, and Henry Chriceol officiating. Interment will be in Hasley Cemetery, West Monroe under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home. Mr. Holstead died March 30, 2013 at the Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe. Bro Charles was a member of the Ridge Ave Baptist Church, where he was a member and teacher of the Fellowship Sunday School Class. Rev. Holstead received his BA degree from Louisiana College, Master's degree from New Orleans Theological Seminary, and an Education Specialist Degree from University of Louisiana Monroe. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mrs. Joy Holstead. He is survived by his wife, Elsie M. Holstead; children, Judy Osbon and husband Windell, Bobby Holstead and wife Katie, and Charles Holstead, Jr; brothers, Geary Holstead and wife Martha, and Doyle Holstead; sisters, Betty Goodwin and husband John, Sally Black, and Edith Willis; step-sons, Tommy Mitchell and wife Linda, and Jimmy Mitchell and wife Becky; grandsons, Clay Osbon and wife Jennifer, Chase Osbon and wife, Lindsay, Carland Holstead and wife, Anne ; granddaughter, Kyndall Holstead; 5 Step-grandchildren; 4 Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Windell Osbon, Clay Osbon, Chase Osbon, Adan Briones, Tommy Mitchell, Jimmy Mitchell, Bobby Holstead and Doyle Holstead. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Fellowship Sunday School Class.
