Interment will follow at Roselawn Gardens in Calhoun under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Officiating will be Bro. Johnny Holyfield and Bro. Ershel Hicks. He was born on February 16, 1949 in Monroe, LA, and passed away on June 15, 2017 after a long battle with cancer in Hot Springs, AR. He was a long time resident of the Monroe and Farmerville area. He is preceded in death by his parents Milton Loyd and Virginia "Jean" Holyfield; son, Jeremy Holyfield; brothers, Milton Loyd Holyfield Jr, and Henry Holyfield. Survivors include his daughters, Jennifer Wallace and husband Ben, Jessica Reynolds and husband Cade; grandchildren, Sage Hanks, Chloe Wallace and Stella Wallace and Preston Reynolds; sisters, Ester Hicks (Ershel), Ann Campbell (Ray); brothers, Charlie (Holly), James (Carmen), Johnny (Debbie), Joe (Linda), Billy (Michelle), dozen of nieces, nephews and extended family. The family wishes to thank Elijah Pricop of Senior Comfort in Hot Springs, AR. Thank you to Derksen Hospice, especially nurse Melissa Wilmsett and Chaplin Herb Morgan who not only cared for and ministered to Bubba but to the Holyfield family. A very special thanks to one of his caregivers with whom he became friends, Andrew Sloan. Andrew was more than a caregiver, he became like a son to Bubba. Andrew's compassion and attentiveness made Bubba's last day on earth a little easier. Bubba served his country proudly as a member of the United States Marine Corp. Bubba retired from GM Guide Plant in Monroe, LA. Pallbearers will be Bubba's nephews. Bubba's desire in lieu of flowers would be to please donate funds so a child can attend a church camp this summer. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, June 16, 2017 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA.
