JAMES HORATH

Funeral services for James "Al" Horath, 83, of Start, LA will be at 3:00 PM, 
Sunday, July 5, 2015 at Start Baptist Church, Start, LA with Rev. Mike Howard 
and Rev. Jeff Thomas officiating. Interment will be in Start Cemetery, Start, 
LA under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville.

Mr. Al was born February 13, 1932, in Dibble, OK and passed away Thursday, July 
2, 2015, in Delhi, LA. He was a member of Start Baptist Church where he was an 
Adult Sunday School Teacher and active deacon. He mentored young boys through 
the RA program. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He 
worked for 22 years at the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home. He is preceded in 
death by his parents, James Melton and Julia Marie Horath; brother, Edmond 
Hackney; sister, Priscilla Horath.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Lou Horath of Start, LA; children, 
Linda Frith and husband, Donnie of Tallulah, LA; Carol Robertson and husband, 
Andy of West Monroe, LA; Neal Horath and Vicky Hernandez of Tallulah, LA; 
Allison Lee and husband, Steve of Ruston, LA; Paula Fletcher and husband, Mike 
of Bossier City, LA; numerous other children from the Louisiana Baptist 
Children's Home who blessed our lives; grandchildren, Stuart Frith and wife, 
Kathryn; Daniel Frith; Andrew Robertson; Justin Horath and wife, Shannon; 
Jessica Jones and husband, Kaleb; Kelsey Horath; Adam Savage; Rachel Lee; 
Michael Lee; Rebeccah Fletcher; Lauren Fletcher; great grandchildren, Logan 
Beard; Abram Frith; sisters, Glaydice Trammell; Joyce Moore; Wilma Harmon; 
brothers, Travis Hackney; Joe Hackney; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Stuart Frith, Daniel Frith, Andrew Robertson, 
Justin Horath, Adam Savage, and Michael Lee. Honorary Pallbearers are the Adult 
Men's Sunday School Class at Start Baptist Church.

Visitation will be 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Saturday at Start Baptist Church.
