ROBERT EARL HOSEA

Funeral services for Robert Earl Hosea, Sr., age 68, of Olla will be held at 
10:00 am Monday, March 4, 2013, at the First Baptist Church in Olla, with Rev. 
Johnnie Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at the Newton Cemetery in 
Delhi at 2:00 pm Monday under the direction of Riser Funeral Home of Olla. 
Visitation will be Sunday March 3, 2013, at the First Baptist Church in Olla 
from 6:00-9:00 pm, and on Monday at the church from 8:00 am until time of 
service. Robert Earl Hosea was born on December 16, 1944, in Delhi, LA to the 
union of his parents, Lonnie Coleman Hosea and Sadie Belle Cobb. He passed from 
this life on Thursday, February 28, 2013, at his residence following an 
extended illness. Mr. Hosea was a United States Army Veteran, a member of the 
First Baptist Church of Olla, and an employee of S. H. Loe Oil Company in 
Tullos. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Clyde Hosea 
and Shelton Hosea. Survivors include: wife, Rosemary Sumerall Hosea of Olla; 
daughter, Janet Hosea Byrd and her husband Steve of Clinton, MS; and son, 
Robert Earl "Robbie" Hosea, Jr. and his wife Tina of Olla; his brothers, Sonny 
Hosea of Delhi, Howard Hosea of Monroe, and Thomas Hosea of Clarksville, TN; 
his sisters, Lorraine House of Ozark, MO, Shirley Reece of Meridian, MS; and 
Sharon Dendy of Bernice, LA. He also is survived by his eight grandchildren, 
Austin Byrd, Elizabeth Byrd, Brandon Hosea, Jeremy Hosea, Kinley Hosea, Candace 
Smith, Kyle Decker, Kaylin Decker; and his great-grandchildren, Bailey Smith 
and Peyton Smith.
