Pam Roy and Rev. Don Wright officiating. Interment will follow in the Hebert Cemetery. Mrs. Howard was born on February 1, 1921 in Richland Parish to the union of Charles Nolan and Ertie Glasco Hampton and died Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at the Franklin Parish Medical Center in Winnsboro. In 1948, Mama Jo began working in the cafetria at Hebert School. She worked at the Red Cross Drug Store beginning in 1956. She also worked at the Columbia Heights Pharmacy. She was co-owner of the Klothes Pin in Columbia for a number of years. She was a member of the Hebert United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Luther A. Howard, her twin sons: Matthew and Mark Howard, her grandson: Darren W. Howard and her sister: Doris H. Howard. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law: Lynette and Joe Maxwell of Hebert, her sons and daughters-in-law: Jimmy and Diane Howard of West Monroe, Jodie and Becky Howard of Hebert and Luther Nolan Howard of Hebert, her grandchildren: Tommy Howard, Jeff Howard, Luke Howard, Darell Howard, Tracie Maxwell, Dawn Yonts, Todd Maxwell, Max Howard, Tina Juneau, Michael Howard and Mark Howard, sixteen great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and her sisters: Hazel H. Ferrell of Natchez, MS and Jerri H. Pierce of Ferriday. Mama Jo's grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00PM until 9:00PM and Thursday from 8:00AM until time of services at Riser Funeral Home, 7131 Hwy 165, Columbia.
