Howell, 71, of West Monroe will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday March 4, 2014 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe with Rev. David Moreland officiating. Interment will be in Hasley Cemetery in West Monroe, LA. On February 28, 2014, Jack A. Howell passed away suddenly after a lengthy illness joining his beloved wife Sharon. Jack was born on April 28, 1942 in Pioneer, LA to Dan and Lena Howell. He was a graduate of West Monroe High School. In 1962, he married his high school sweetheart, Sharon Dianne Crew Howell. They were married for 40 years when Sharon passed away in December 2002. He was the father of James Allen Howell and Janet Rae Howell, and grandfather to Karli Ellena Griffin. Jack became a barber co-owning the 19th Hole Barber Shop until going to welding school then joining Pipe Liners Local 798 where he worked overseas in Saudi Arabia. He then worked for Firestone as a Credit Manager, and then became a truck driver. Jack owned and operated Jack Howell Bail Bonds until his retirement in 2007. Jack was an intelligent and self-educated man, who was full of vast knowledge and endless wisdom. He leaves his children with an empty heart, but his heart is full being with his wife Sharon at last in heaven. He is preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Dianne Crew Howell; parents, Dan and Lena Howell brothers, Doyle B. Howell, Van C. Howell. Survivors include his son, Jim Allen Howell; daughter, Jane Raet Howell; granddaughter, Karli Ellena Griffin; sister, Dennie Page and husband William. Pallbearers will be Jim Howell, Janet Howell, Doyle Jones, Poochie Young, Chuck Martindale, and Christopher Moore. Honorary Pallbearers will be Karli Griffin, Tom Johnson, Kevin Mize, and Doyle Nelson Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00PM Monday, March 3, 2014 at Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA.
