Richard Norsworthy officiating. Interment will follow at Kilpatrick's Serenity Gardens under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. Mrs. Hudgens passed away Saturday, December 22, 2012. She was a very unique woman. Mrs. Hudgens loved her family tremendously and always saw the best in everyone. She put all her faith in God and trusted him to guide her in everything she did. Mrs. Hudgens had tremendous talents. She designed and sewed all of her clothing. With her regal posture and elegant style, she often got mistaken for Jackie Kennedy. Mrs. Hudgens also enjoyed oil painting, and later in life took to China Painting as a hobby. Of her many projects she had done for the community, one of her favorites was work she performed for St. Matthew's church during the 1980s and 1990s. During this time, Father George asked Mrs. Hudgens to retouch and refinish many of the statues for St. Matthew's church. She was most proud of the Angels she gold leafed with such care. Mrs. Hudgens was preceded in death by her husband, Wesley Daryl Hudgens. Survivors include children, Cynthia Hudgens of Salt Lake City, UT, Daryl Hudgens of Monroe, Eileen Dedmon and husband Darrell of Indianapolis, IN, and Brenda Fritz and husband John of Eros, LA; six grandchildren, Wilbern J Brady Jr., children Maegan and Garrett; Shawn Brady; Melissa and Daniel Tedeton, children Jeanna and Kayleigh; Rebecca Dedmon; Danny Dedmon. Pallbearers will be Will Brady, Shawn Brady, Daniel Tedeton, John Fritz, and Joe Brady. Visitation will be Wednesday from 9:00 AM until 10:45 AM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
