NORA MARIE PHILLIPS HUGHES 

Boone Funeral Home Inc., Greenville, MS 

Funeral services for Nora Marie Phillips Hughes, 83, of Greenville will be at 
11:00 AM, Monday, July 20, 2009 at Calvary Baptist Church, Greenville, MS. She 
died Saturday, July 18, 2009 at her home. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial 
Gardens, Greenville under the direction of Boone-Wells Funeral Home, 
Greenville. She was born in Morton, MS and moved to Greenville at an early age 
where she graduated from Greenville High School. She married Melvin Hughes 
making their home in Greenville where she was employed with First National 
Bank which is now Regions Bank, retiring as Teller Supervisor. She was a 
member of Calvary Baptist Church. She had been awaiting her fifth great 
grandchild due to arrive in January 2010. She is survived by her husband, 
Melvin Hughes of Greenville, MS; two daughters, Melinda Harmon (David) of 
Greenville, MS and Cheryl LaFoe (Macon) of Monroe, LA; a son, David Hughes 
(Mimi) of Greenville, MS; a sister, Hazel Keith of Greenville, MS; seven 
grandchildren, Jennifer Giddens (Ryan), David Hughes, Jr. (Templet), Macon 
LaFoe, II (Casey), Leslie Sullivan (David), Martha Ulmer (Will), Jennifer 
Harmon and Douglas Harmon; four great grandchildren, Ann Elise Hughes, Katelyn 
Giddens, James Macon "Tripp" LaFoe, III and Landon Hughes. The family will 
receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM, Sunday, July 19, 2009 at Boone-Wells 
Funeral Home, Greenville, MS.
