He was born December 5, 1927, in Plainview, AR to J. W. and Mary (Dickson) Humphreys. Preceding him in death are his parents; his wife, Barbara (Rawls) Humphreys; brothers: C. W., Troy, Victor, Everett, and Leo Humphreys; and sisters: Sylvia Pennington, Clyda Mitchell, Willie Humphreys, and Evy Torres. Mr. Humphreys proudly served the U.S.A.F. during the Korean Conflict, earned a Bachelor's Degree from Northeast Louisiana University, and worked over 33 years for South Central Bell Telephone Company, retiring as an ESS Switchman. He enjoyed traveling, gardening, attending church, and his family. He was a faithful member of The Assembly, and regularly attended Rocky Branch Assembly of God later in life. Mr. Humphreys was a good-natured Christian man who spent his time improving the lives of others. He was a devoted family man, and will be lovingly remembered for his humor, kindness, and dependability. He served as a Deacon, a Sunday School teacher, and a mission trip volunteer, as well as other positions within the church. He was an excellent role model who took good care of his family and brought joy to the world around him. He will be missed. Left to honor his memory are his loving children: Janet (Curtis) Bearden, Gail (Bob) Beasley, and Ted Humphreys, Jr.; grandchildren: Lynn (Cristal) Bearden, Brandon (Donna) Bearden, Ashley Bearden, and Michelle (Marc) Florman; great grandchildren: Kourtney Bearden, Kelsey Bearden, Hazel Florman, and Rimona Florman; great- great granddaughter: Emma Kay LaDart; sisters: Ivy Marler and Bonnie (Roy) Davidson and many nephews and nieces. We give special thanks to Elnora Norris from Serenity Home Health for her devoted care. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Thursday, April 14, 2016, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Monroe, LA. Services to celebrate Mr. Humphreys' life are 10:00 A.M. Friday, April 15, at Kilpatrick Funeral Home. Following the funeral, a graveside service and burial will be held at 2:00 P.M. at Watson Cemetery in Watson, Arkansas.
