Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Monroe. Mrs. Hunt died Friday, October 17, 2014, at Avalon Place in Monroe, Louisiana. Mrs. Hunt worked for many years as a bookkeeper for Home Appliance and TV. A long-time member of the First United Methodist Church in Monroe, she joined the Anna Gray Noe Sunday School Class when it began as a class for college age young people. She sang in the Chancel Choir for over 50 years. After she and Harold retired, they traveled frequently in the USA and Europe. Marie was a long- time Contract Bridge Player at the Bridge House. In 2002, she was recognized as a Golden Age Master of The American Contract Bridge League. Marie's children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends will cherish memories of a no-nonsense, caring, loving woman who was willing to correct you or help you - whichever she thought you needed. Mrs. Hunt was preceded in death by her husband, Harold E. Hunt, Sr.; her father, Clayton L. Taylor; her mother, Moise V. Taylor; and her sister Lavania T. Woodburn. Survivors include her sons, Harold E. Hunt, Jr. and wife Carolyn; and William K. Hunt and wife Kathy; four grandchildren, Trey Hunt and wife Sarah, Kristin Hunt, Nicole Goins and husband Jon Michael, and Ethan Hunt and wife Erin; sister, Dorothy Hill; brother, Bill Taylor; and six great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Auther Earl, Fred Hill, Stevie Hill, Richard Hunt, Ronnie Hunt and Woody Woodburn. Visitation will be held 5:00PM until 7:00PM Monday, October 20, 2014, at Mulhearn Funeral Home and 1:00PM until service on Tuesday, October 21, 2014, at the First United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Monroe.
