HUNTER Funeral services for Edwin L. Hunter, 74, of Monroe, will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, October 14, 2012, at Rowland Road Baptist Church with Pastors Norman Bryant and John Yates officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Hunter passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at his residence following a lengthy illness. He was a member of Rowland Road Baptist Church and a successful car salesman, retiring from Woodie's Used Cars, as well as owning his own dealership, Ouachita Motors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and repairing small engines, along with maintaining his own lawn. Mr. Hunter was very quick witted, had a great sense of humor and was also known as "Slick", "Uncle Precious", and "Watchie"! Survivors include wife, Jo Eileen Hunter; son, James Edwin Hunter; daughters, Lori Lynn and husband Mark McDaniels and Karen Jo and husband Byron "Paco" Hall; granddaughter, Kera Nicole Hunter; sisters, Vera Janice Loveless, Ida Mae Breedlove, Patricia Ann Dalton, and Deborah Sue Taylor; along with many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Saturday from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Rd., Monroe.
