Ann was born on September 25th 1947, the second child of five children born to Julius and Grace Jester Franklin of Curtis, Arkansas, near Gurdon. She is preceded in death by both parents, who are interned at the Southfork Cemetery. Ann is survived by all her sisters and brothers, Judy Franklin Fendley and her late husband Hugh of Arkadelphia; Buddy (Priscilla) Franklin of Las Vegas, Nevada; David (Deana) Franklin of Hot Springs; and Jane Franklin (Mike) Register of Monroe, Louisiana. She is also survived by her ex-husband Dwight Hutto of Clinton, Arkansas and their daughters April Suzanne Hutto (Stan) Carson of Greenbrier, and Ginger Renee Hutto (Lonnie) Duncan of Damascus; three grandchildren, Dausen Garet Duncan and Mason Brenner Duncan of Damascus, and Isabella Hopkins Carson of Greenbrier. Ann leaves many nieces, nephews and many, many good friends and relatives too numerous to list. Ann's father passed away when she was quite young, and times were difficult for her mother, Grace, who was raising five children on her own. Ann grew up as a country girl. She had pets including a horse named Sugar. She loved 4-H activities and fishing in the creeks and ponds around where she grew up. She spent a lot of time with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Riley and Ludie Jester of Curtis and Maw Franklin of Shiloh. She attended Gurdon Public Schools for twelve years and graduated there. She loved basketball and was on the senior girls' team her 10-12 grade years. She enrolled in Cosmetology School while in high school and became a licensed cosmetologist. After graduation, Ann enrolled and completed two years of college at Henderson State University. While attending college, she met and later married Dwight Hutto of Clinton, Arkansas. From that union, her two daughters were born. During the years that followed, Ann was a devoted house wife who worked as a hair stylist, a sales clerk at department stores, as a pharmacy assistant and later a hospital aide. She was devoted, hardworking and creative, always an excellent employee. She loved cooking and everyone always looked forward to her Thanksgiving chicken and dressing and homemade chocolate pies which she made from her mom's recipes. Ann also loved making all types of holiday home decorations. Her greatest gift however was the loving help she so freely gave to her friends and family during sickness, where she would give unconditional nurturing until that friend or relative was well enough to take care of themselves. Ann loved going to baseball, softball and basketball games and cheering on her grandsons and granddaughter. She enjoyed good humor and loved to joke, giving back as good as was given. She was true and gave uncompromising love and devotion to her friends and family. She exemplified the meaning of the phrase 'good mother and grandmother'. She was strong in her will and straight in her ways, following good Christian standards and passing those ideals down to her children and grandchildren. She will be very much missed by everyone she touched. Her graveside service and internment will be held at 2:00P.M., Sunday, January 8, 2017 at Blackwell Cemetery, Bee Branch, AR, where she wanted to be close to her family. Pallbearers will be Lonnie, Dausen and Mason Duncan, Stan Carson Jr., Dwight Hutto and Jeff Matthews. Honorary Pallbearers will be Matt Moix and Wilber Walters. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to be made to Arkansas Hospice-River Valley 220 John Babish Lane, Russellville, AR. 72081.
