J.S. HYMER


Monroe - Graveside services for J.S. "Boots" Hymer, of Monroe, LA, will be 
held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, October 3, 2017, at Emma Cemetery in Cotton 
Valley, LA, under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, Monroe, with 
Pastor Randy Ray officiating.

Boots was born September 19, 1934, in Plain Dealing, LA and passed away 
September 30, 2017 in Monroe, LA. He loved his family and enjoyed playing 
guitar in his band and tending to his lawn. Boots was Past Master of Western 
Star Lodge #24 for two years and retired from LA Highway Department after 38 
years of service. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Bates 
Hymer; two sons, Sam and Jeff; and a granddaughter, Terra Till.

Boots is survived by his wife of 18 years, Marie Warren Hymer; daughter, 
Mary Jo Castleberry, and husband Tim; sons, Forrest Blackstock, Stephen 
Fitzpatrick, and David Fitzpatrick and wife, Cheryl; 10 grandchildren and 19 
great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Monday, October 2, 2017, from 4:30 PM until 8:00 PM 
at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, Monroe, LA.
