Huffman (November 26, 1982) Services for Alva S. Huffman, 74, will be at 3 p.m. today at Mulhearn Funeral Home chapel on Sterlington Road with the Rev. T. Earl Ogg officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery following a Masonic graveside service. Mr. Huffman died Wednesday at St. Francis Hospital after a short illness. Mr. Huffman was a member and Sunday school teacher at College Place Baptist Church. He was a former instructor at Northeast Louisiana University and a World War II Navy veteran. He was a member of Western Star Masonic Lodge and a co-founder of the Harry Lemert High Twelve Club. He was manager of the Bismack (Sic.) Trading Post at the Louisiana Purchase Gardens and Zoo and a member of Friends of the Zoo. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Marjorie Huffman of Monroe; one son, Steve Huffman of Houston; one daughter, Mrs. Carol Bartlett of Mobile, Ala; and six grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Curtis McCrary, Phillip McCrary, Dr. Robert McCrary, Dr. Blake Blakewood, Archie Wiley and Garland Shell. Visitation will (be) until the time of services today at the funeral home chapel. The family requests memorials be made to the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home. # # #
