WELDON RAY IDOM


Belews Creek - Weldon Ray Idom, 67, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday
afternoon September 16, 2017 at Forsyth Medical Center.

Weldon was born on April 8, 1950 a native of West Monroe, LA. He was the son of
the late Calvin Lee Jr. and Mildred Hardy Idom. He was a workaholic and served
35 years at TYCO Electronics. Weldon loved to hear good preaching, attending
Baux Mountain Baptist Church, Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, and New Birth Baptist.
He was a West Monroe, LA native until 1980, where he played football for the
West Monroe Rebels and was a fan of the LSU Tigers. Weldon loved sports of any
kind, and also enjoyed golfing.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Weldon is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sandra Kiger Idom; 2 daughters, Sher
Kisha Idom of Kernersville and Tammy Lynn Idom Dean (Curtis) of West Monroe, LA
;grandson, Colby Dean; 4 sisters, Linda Miller of Shreveport, LA, Judy Caples of
West Monroe, LA, Paula Horst, and Patty Worley of Monroe, LA; 2 brothers, Steve
Idom and Calvin Lee Idom III both of West Monroe, LA; as well as several nieces
and nephews.

A 1:00 pm funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at
Burroughs Chapel with Rev. Mark Smith, Rev. Dave Cloer, and Steve Idom
officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory, Walkertown.

The family will receive friends from 12-1 pm on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at
Burroughs Funeral Home and other times his home.
