W. "BAY" JACKSON Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA Funeral services for Mr. J. W. "Bay" Jackson, 83, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 6, 2010, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe with Rev. Jeff Luellen officiating and Mr. Charles H. Penn III officiating the Masonic Service. Interment will follow in St. Paschal's Cemetery. Mr. Jackson passed away on January 3, 2010 at Glenwood Regional Medical Center. He was a WWII veteran and served with the SeaBees. He retired from Louisiana Power and Light after 41 years of service. Mr. Jackson was a 33rd Degree Mason, member of the Scottish Rite Bodies, member of the West Monroe Lodge #419, member of the El Karubah Shrine Temple in Shreveport, LA and The Royal Order of Scotland. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathlyn Elizabeth Bethard Jackson; parents, Ed and Eunice Jackson; daughter, Debra Lynn Jackson Cooper; brother, Buck Jackson; and grandson, Jay Lee Jackson. Survivors include his children, Cherie Jackson Moncrief and husband Monty of West Monroe, LA ; and Jay Wayne Jackson of Calhoun, LA; brother, Charles Jackson and wife Ann of Cotton Valley, LA; three grandchildren, Yvette Perkins Redman and husband Michael, William P. Cooper Jr. and wife Jaclyn Nicole Heard Cooper, and Joshua Wade Jackson; great grand-children, Kathlyn "Katie" Redman, Logan Trase Redman, Kennedy Kate Cooper, William Jackson Cooper and Lacey Brooke Moore; and Dad's longtime sweet heart, Vera Cunningham. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe. Pallbearers will be Josh Jackson, William P. Cooper, Jr., Greg Wrenn, Michael Redman, Richard Fewell, Jr., Eddie Joe Frazier, Don Frantom, Ben Grant Adams, and Carl Fatheree. Honorary pallbearers will be Woody Bilyeu, Bert Hatten, Roy McDuffie, Hebert Black, Marvin Allen, Dr. I. C. Turnley, Jim Sims, Elbert Via, Jr. Thad Spurlock, and Ed Tillman. Memorials may be made to the Shriner's Childrens Hospital. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Ronald Hammett, CVICU and SNF nurses at Glenwood Regional Medical Center for the special care of Mr. Jackson.
