CHARLES PHILLIP JAMES Kilpatrick Funeral Home Monroe, LA Funeral services for Sgt. Charles Phillip James, 81, of Monroe, will be on Tuesday, April 7, 2009 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of the Kilpatrick Funeral Home, 1200 Lamy Lane, Monroe, LA. Interment will follow in the Bethany Cemetery, Sylvarena, MS, under the direction of the Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe. Born September 29, 1927, in Detroit, MI, he was the son of the late Hud and Eunnie Weston James. He passed away Friday evening, April 3, 2009, in Monroe. A retired Lousiana State Trooper with over 25 years of service, he was a US Navy veteran serving between World War II and the Korean Conflict and a Deputy Sheriff with the Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Department. Joyce, his beloved wife of 57 years, preceded him in death in January, 2008. Survivors include his daughters, Janice James and Terri Hayward and husband, Michael, and his son, Charles Phillip James II; 4 grandchildren, Christiana, Thurner, Thomas, and Annelies Hayward; a nephew and 3 nieces. The family requests memorial donations be made to St Jude's Children's Hospital in lieu of floral tributes. Visitation will be Monday, April 6, 2009, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Chapel of the Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe.
