Wayne Whiteside and Chaplain Don Banks officiating. Burial will be in Crestview Cemetery under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home. Mr. Jinks was born and raised in Delhi, Louisiana. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he served in the Vietnam Conflict and retired after 20 years of service with the rank of Master Sergeant. Mr. Jinks worked and retired after many years as an auto mechanic in Union Parish. He is preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Myrtle "Cat" Jinks; his parents, John Henry and Maudie Ellen Jinks; a brother, John Elvis Jinks, Sr.; five sisters, Mary Nell Overstreet, Ollie Mae Jinks, Myrtle Dickson, Louise Jinks and Beatrice McKibbens. Left to cherish his memory are his two daughters, Rebecca Jinks Brennon and husband, Charles and Rhonda Jinks Owens and husband, Shelton, all of Downsville; three sons, William E. "Blue" Jinks and wife, Lorrie of Downsville, Homer Ray Jinks and wife, Marty Kay of Farmerville, and Mark O'Neal Jinks and wife, Johnna of Shreveport; two brothers, Billy Ray "Johnny" Jinks, Sr. and wife, Inez and Henry E. Jinks and wife, Nadia, all of Delhi; two sisters, Shirley Dickson of Delhi and Judy Goodson and husband, Jerry of Georgia; thirteen grandchildren, Jennifer Creed, Jason Creed, Casey and Jennifer Rogers, Adam Smith, Colby and Courtney Jinks, Jessica Kelly, Sam Smith, Dalton and Katie Jinks, Josh and Leanne Brennon, Matthew Jinks, Caleb Jinks, Mason Jinks and Marley Jinks; four stepgrandchildren, Whitney Owens, Bonnie Bearden, Stephanie Craighead and Angela Del Rio; and a host of other family and friends who will miss him greatly. His grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Visitation is 5:00 -8:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The family wishes to thank the Gamble Hospice Care for their services, social worker Cheryl Minor and caregiver Wanda Holmes.
