Shreveport, LA 71108. To her family\friends Martiel (Mother, Mom, Mrs. Johns, Maw, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother she passed away on May 17, 2014. Martiel was born January 20, 1922 in Jonesboro, LA to S.J. and Zula Barnes Autrey. Preceding her were six siblings and oldest son Travis. She was an active East Carroll Parish Homemaker, raising her family on the farm where her love of poetry began. She was a member of the Monroe Chapter and Louisiana State Poetry Society for over 45 years. She has published poems. Her children were active in many school clubs and sports of which she supported as a parent and chaperoned. Also left to cherish her memories are nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
