L.B. Oliver, pastor. Interment will be in Richwood Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Johnson, a homemaker, passed away Friday, Jan. 6, 2012 at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe. In 1946, she met the love of her life, Karther Johnson. They entered into Holy Matrimony on January 12, 1947, and were married for over 60 years before his demise. To their union, eight children were born. Preceding in death are her husband, Karther; parents, Ben and Carrie Lewis; two daughters, Mary Ann Horne and Kerry Lee Curry; two sons-in-law, Richard J. Horne and Joseph Curry; three sisters, Mary Ella Martin, Ruby Bass and Roberta Watson; and two brothers, Sam Bass and Joe Bass. Mary Lou was known throughout the Pine Bayou Community for her kindness, generosity, wisdom, gentle-nature and willingness to encourage others. Her home was so inviting that many who visited could attest to the warm, loving spirit she shared. Being the Johnson family matriarch, the love she had for God, her husband, children, and others was limitless. We are grateful to God to have had her as a blessing in our lives. Forever loving and cherishing her memories are her three daughters, Johnnie R. Johnson, Evelyn L. Johnson and Brenda J. Harris, all of Monroe; three sons, Arthur Johnson and Danny R. Johnson of Monroe and Harold G. Johnson of Norcross, Ga.; son-in-law Jerry Harris of Monroe; one sister, Deloris (Keith) Slater of Spring Valley, Calif.; one brother, David (Bertha) Reed of Oakland, Calif.; brother-in-law, Alex (Vanessa) Johnson of Lees Summit, Mo.; ten grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, two great, great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
