PATRICIA LANE JOHNSON

Patricia "Pat" Lane Johnson was welcomed to her heavenly home on January 12,
2014. She was reunited with her late husband of 42 years, Roy Lee Johnson, Sr.,
son Mark "Steve" Johnson, and parents Martin Luther and Ollie Elizabeth Brady.
She is now preparing them a heavenly feast. Fixin' a grand Sunday dinner was
among one of her many joys. She knew everyone's favorite dish and never
hesitated to say, "I made that just for you." Among favorites were cabbage
rolls, fruit tarts, fried chicken, and even hot water cornbread. You were never
allowed to leave her home hungry. She was a woman of true Southern hospitality.
As soon as you walked into her home you were sure to hear, "ya'll go in there
and get you something to eat." She never failed to invite you to her home, and
she never met a stranger. She always made you feel like you were one of her own,
and when she invited you over you knew she truly meant it.

Although Sunday dinners were special to her, nothing compared to her Christmas
Eve celebrations. She prepared year round for that single night. As Pat's family
grew, so did her Christmas Eve celebration. Her family crowded in her living
room and spilled over into the rest of her home. Presents piled high, even
higher than her young grandchildren. Some years a child or two got lost in all
the scattered red and green wrapping. Every year it never failed a present would
go missing as black trash bags were stuffed full of crumpled remnants of her
year-long work. She, of course, never would allow such a party without a vast
span of food. From her red punch that stained all the children's upper lip to
her famous dip and chocolate covered pretzels she made every year. Just like any
other time, no one was allowed to leave hungry. Her and her family's greatest
blessing, though, was the time spent together on that night each year.
Thankfully the Lord blessed her and her family with one more Christmas Eve
celebration this year that they will forever cherish.

She worked tirelessly on her dinners and Christmas Eve celebrations because of
her love and devotion to her family. Children, Roy Lee Johnson, Jr., the late
Mark "Steve" Johnson and wife Donna, David Wayne Johnson and wife Robin, and
Linda Carol Johnson were the center of her life and her greatest
accomplishments. You couldn't go long in conversation with Pat without her
boastfully mentioning her children's newest endeavors. Her three rambunctious
boys, only ten months apart and then seven years later her baby girl who
admittedly refers to herself as "Momma's favorite". However, Pat never failed to
make each one feel like the most special one. From fresh baked cookies when they
got home from school to never missing a sporting event or dance recital, she was
each ones biggest cheerleader. She was the perfect example of a Christian
mother. Her values, traditions, and love for family were and will be passed down
for generations.

Pat, Trishie, Trish, Aunt Trishie, Momma, Sister, Trisha but out of all the
names Pat Johnson went by, the one most precious to her was Momma Trishie. Her
greatest joys were her grandchildren: Bridget, Mark, Chris, Heather, Kindall,
Amber, Jack, Justin, Bailey, Evan, and granddog Oscar Lee; along with great
grandchildren: Burgundy, Christopher, Layla, Haylee, Trey, Addison, Lane,
LayCee, and Jolene. She held each and every one of them and sang her special
song, "Momma Trishie loves her little babies, I do, I do…" Each of her
grandchildren and great grandchildren sat in her lap as she rocked and sang her
one-of-a kind ballad. She often referred to her precious grandchildren as "Momma
Trishie's hearts" or "my little angels". She never missed an event or birthday,
calling and singing "Happy Birthday" no matter how old her babies got. Anyone
who knew her, knew her world revolved around her babies. Grandmother and great
grandmother to 18 but Momma Trish to so many.

Not only her children and grandchildren were important to Pat, her sisters,
brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews also played a huge role in
her life. Carolyn Wheeler and Barbara Brashears and husband Charles "Bub" were
known for their many adventures. Often referred to as just "the sisters," a new
hilarious story from one of their most recent escapades was sure to be told at
every family gathering. Some were even known to be told from the pulpit on
Sunday morning. They were more than just sisters. They were best friends. Like
blood relatives, Pat's brothers and sisters-in-law Billy Joe "Bones" Johnson and
wife O'Tilia "Tilly" and Danny Wayne Johnson were a part of her tight-knit
family. Her numerous nieces and nephews were no exception for her passion for
family. She made each of their important events also important to her. There is
no denying that family was indispensable to Pat, and she never hesitated to say,
"The most important thing on this earth is family."

Pat's church family and her many charities and volunteer work were also among
the upmost importance to her. As an active member of Dean Baptist Church, she
took every opportunity to serve those in the church and the community. She was a
part of many different ministries in her church including: cooking for the
homebound, making gifts for nursing homes, and many more. Her most recent
contribution is a new ministry inspired by her where each sermon will be taped
and distributed to members in the hospital and those homebound. The title of
this ministry will be "Pat's Ministry". Her generosity and loving heart was not
confined to the church building, but spread throughout the community. From her
work with the Lions Club to her work with the Monroe Police Department, she had
a heart for giving. Pat never failed to help others by giving of her time,
resources, and especially providing a home cooked meal. There are so many
instances of her charitable heart it is impossible to list them all. However, a
simple mention of her name to anyone in the community, and a story of how she
touched their lives will soon follow.

Celebration of the life of Patricia Johnson will be at Kilpatrick's funeral home
in Farmerville, La. Pastor Don Reeves will officiate the service. Visitation is
Tuesday, January 14, 2014 from 5:00-8:00 pm. The funeral is Wednesday, January
15, 2014 at 10:00 am. Graveside service will follow at Ouachita Cemetery.
Pallbearers will include: Donald Wheeler, Jr., Darren Wheeler, William Wheeler,
Michael Brashears, Charles Brashears II, Spencer Johnson, Danny Johnson, Jr.,
Blake Johnson, and William Johnson. Honorary Pallbearer: Glen Sams. The family
would also like to specially thank Dr. Robert Raulerson for his continuous care,
kindness, and compassion shown to her throughout the years, not only as a
physician but as a friend to the family.
