WILBUR ALLEN JOHNSON

Bastrop, LA.

BASTROP, LA. Funeral services for Mr. Wilbur Allen Johnson will be held 11:00 
a.m. Monday, June 28, 2010 at the Christ Episcopal Church, Bastrop with 
Reverends James Benbrook and Edward M. Head officiating. Interment will follow 
at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church Cemetery under the direction of Cox 
Funeral Home, Bastrop.

Mr. Johnson was born July 6, 1925 and he passed away peacefully surrounded by 
his family on June 25, 2010. He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church and a 
retired mechanic with International Paper Company. He was a recepient of the 
Purple Heart and Bronze Star for his service in World War II as a paratrooper 
with the U.S. Army's 101st Airborne Division in the Euorpean Theatre.

He is survived by his wife, Katherine Johnson; a son, John Allen Johnson and 
wife, Esther of Clinton, MS.; three daughters, Dianne Morris Yarbrough of West 
Monroe, Donna Atkins and husband, Steve of Bastrop, Debby Dempsey and husband 
Russell of Mena, Arkansas; six grand-children, Zachary Johnson, Heather 
Morris, Zee Zee Wilson, Russell Atkins, Anna Claire Berry, and Heath Allen 
Johnson; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, Bruce Brice of Natchez, MS.; 
and a brother in law, Willis Freeland of Bastrop; 5 step-children; 11 step-
grandchildren and 3 step great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, June 
27, 2010 at Cox Funeral Home, Bastrop. www.coxfuneral.com
