West Monroe, LA

Funeral service for Mrs. Merle F. Johnston, 91, of Green Forest, AR, formerly 
of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 10:00AM Monday, January 19, 2009, in the 
chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe with Rev. Richard Henderson 
officiating. Interment will follow in Hasley Cemetery.

Mrs. Johnston was born in Monroe on December 19, 1917 and passed away in 
Eureka Springs, AR, on January 16, 2009. She was the daughter of Minnie and 
Wesley Sterns and was a graduate of Neville High School. Mrs. Johnston was a 
member of the Trinity Baptist Church in West Monroe, where she was active in 
her church and loved her Sunday School Class. She loved to travel with her 
family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Betty Jean Bennett, and a 
grandson, G. G. Crowell.

Survivors include her son, Aubrey Bennett and wife Joanne of Green Forest, AR; 
sister, Margie Walker of Plain Dealing, LA; granddaughters, Miranda Tarver and 
Dawn Atkins; grandsons, Tommy Ray Gambino and Wade Bennett; and numerous great 
and great grand children.

Pallbearers will be Scott Thomas, Buddy Bearden, Steven Thomas, Martin 
Williams and Carl Dunn.

Visitation will be from 9:00AM until service time at Mulhearn Funeral Home.
