ROBERT M. "BOB" JOHNSTON
Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville, LA

Robert M. "Bob" Johnston, 85, of Rayville suffered a brief illness and was 
called home by our Lord on October 3, 2009 at the Richardson Medical Center in 
Rayville.

He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert A. and Lillian Johnston and his 
late wife, Annie Ruth Johnston.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Jimmie Louise Powell Johnston of Rayville; 
one daughter, Annette Eppinette of Rayville, two grandchildren, Robin Erwin 
and husband, Bobby of Monroe and Jeff Jones of Winnsboro; great granddaughter, 
Baylee Erwin of Monroe; brother, Max C. Johnston of Alexandria, LA; two step-
daughters, Linda Smalling of Rayville and Mamia Powell of Dallas, TX; and a 
host of nieces and nephews.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Rayville and served as an 
usher. Member of VFW and the American Legion. He was a retired farmer and 
cattleman. Also known as an old cowboy with many children, "family and 
friends" learning to ride horses under his guidance. He was an Auxiliary 
Deputy with the Richland Parish Sheriff's office. Bob loved to talk and 
enjoyed meeting and greeting everyone. He was a loving husband, a great 
father, a wonderful grandfather and excellent great grandfather. He will be 
missed greatly by his family and friends.

Services will be held at the Rayville First Baptist Church at 2:00 PM, Monday, 
October 5, 2009 with Rev. Joe Senn officiating. Interment will follow in 
Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery, Monroe, LA under the direction of Brown-
Holley Funeral Home, Rayville, LA.

Pallbearers are Andrew Cole, J.B. Montgomery, O.G. Morris, Johnny Morris, Jim 
Adams, Wenchy Greer, Jimmy Leggett, and Fred Lambert.

Honorary pallbearers will be Andy Newsom, Lawrence Medlin, Max Peters, Claude 
Payne, Sonny Vidrine, Sonny Boy Dear, Alan Thompson, and Huey Franks.

Special heartfelt thanks go to Dr. Dan LaFleur and the great nurses and staff 
at Richardson Medical Center for their wonderful care and assistance during 
our final days.

Visitation will be 12:00 PM until the service at 2:00 PM, Monday at the 
Rayville First Baptist Church.
