Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Friday, January 4, 2013 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Parkview Baptist Church in Monroe with Rev. Erby Burgess and Rev. Lee McGlone officiating. Interment will follow immediately at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe. Mrs. Joiner was born October 24, 1924 in Downsville, LA to Irene Canterbury Albritton and Harvey L. Albritton. She was a member of Parkview Baptist Church for forty-four years serving in many capacities including President of the Women's Missionary Union and as a Sunday school teacher for most of her years of membership. Before moving to Monroe, she was a member of First Baptist Church, Greenville, Mississippi for fourteen years, also serving in many leadership roles. Mrs. Joiner was a past member of the Monroe Garden Club, the Twin City Study Club and the American Mothers Organization. She volunteered her time to the Louisiana Baptist Childrens' Home and to the ULM Baptist Collegiate Ministry. She is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Luzon Joiner. She is survived by children Larry Joiner and wife Nonie of Canton, MS, Keith Joiner and wife, Penny of Monroe, and Rebecca Joiner of Monroe. Mrs. Joiner is also survived by grandchildren Ashley Smith and husband Wade of Madison, MS, Grant Joiner and wife Whitney of Memphis, TN, Amanda Saltzman and husband Andy of Lake Charles, LA, and great grandchildren Wade and Walker Smith of Madison, MS and Anna Leigh and Andy Saltzman, Jr. of Lake Charles, LA. She is survived by brothers James Albritton of Downsville, Darvin Albritton of West Monroe, Harold Albritton and wife, Lou Ann of Choudrant, and Troy Albritton and wife Janice of West Monroe, one niece, numerous nephews and dearest cousin, Earline Canterbury Allen. The family wishes to express sincere gratitude to Eller Sutton and daughters Mia and Patricia for their compassionate caregiving to Mrs. Joiner for the last year. Pallbearers are Richard Buck, Grant Joiner, Tom O'Neal, Andy Saltzman, Wade Smith, and Darrell Washam. Honorary Pallbearers are the Grace Sunday School Class and the Parkview Senior Fellowship Group.
